Philosophy
Every birth I attend is a teacher to me.
Being a midwife, I have become a witness to aspects of the human experience that few do. I attend to the innermost depths of the birthing person, addressing all the normal fears and concerns that come with the territory of childbirth. I am honored to be providing birth and reproductive care that empowers and facilitates families through major life transitions such as pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
My belief is that everyone is entitled to compassionate, holistic, and culturally sensitive midwifery care. From preconception to birth, my team and I fully embrace the Midwives Model of Care™ and aspire to make it accessible for every person and family who seeks it, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
"I used Kelsey as my birth doula and she was with me every step of the way, during all of labor and delivery. Even the hospital staff and nurses commented on how they had never seen a Birth Doula who was so caring and involved with me during the process. Kelsey goes out of her way to make you feel listened to, cared for, and like a powerful Mama. I highly recommend her and would definitely use her again! "

FAQs
Who chooses home birth?
Clients who choose home birth have low risk, healthy pregnancies and give birth at term. They are active partners in creating their health and understand that the work of birthing demands trust and surrender to a natural physiological process. I work with families who envision childbirth as a collaborative effort between the birthing person and midwife team to create the birth experience that best serves them.
I’m looking for a midwife near me, but not having any luck! Am I too far?
We are a midwifery practice based in the Greater Heights area. We will gladly travel to service our clients within a 25-30 mile radius. If you are further out, perhaps we can make some recommendations that might work for you.
How can I find out if I am a good candidate for midwifery care?
We are happy to go over this with you in a free 30 minute consultation to find out if you’re a good candidate for care with us. Some clients may have the option for co-managed care with us while they attend regular prenatal care with OB/GYNs.
